Christchurch

Dzisiaj przed południem dojechaliśmy do Christchurch. Jest to nasz ostatni przystanek w Nowej Zelandii. Zatrzymaliśmy się tutaj u Ian’a. Spało u niego jeszcze kilka innych osób z couchsurfing. Dwóch bardzo sympatycznych chłopaków z Izraela, którzy podpowiedzieli nam co warto zobaczyć w Australii, dziewczyna z Francji i dwóch chłopaków z Niemiec, którzy całe dnie siedzieli w vanie zaparkowanym przed wejściem. My zrzuciliśmy manele i pojechaliśmy poszukać miejsca gdzie będziemy mogli wyczyścić i sprzedać samochód. Udało nam się znaleźć Bacpackers Car Market (oddział tej samej firmy w której kupiliśmy samochód w Auckland). Tutaj umyliśmy auto i wypełniliśmy papierki. Trzeba tez zapłacić $65 za trzy dni za możliwość zostawienia samochodu. Rozejrzeliśmy się po całej hali i jest tu niestety dość dużo samochodów na sprzedaż. Dużo ludzi próbuje też sprzedać vany przystosowane do spania w środku. Niektórzy są tutaj już prawie tydzień i ciągle nie mogą sprzedać. Większość ludzi podróżuje w tym samym kierunku co my. To utrudnia potem sprzedaż samochodu. Warto więc zaplanować podróż zaczynając w Christchurch bo łatwiej i taniej jest tu kupić auto i potem sprzedać w Auckland (może nawet z zyskiem). Całym miejscem zarządza dwóch kolesi: jeden podstarzały hippis i drugi chyba bardziej normalny. Do dyspozycji jest ubikacja, prysznic, kuchnia i internet. Wygląda na to że będziemy tu spędzać czas od 9 rano do 5 popołudniu czekając na klientów. Na szczęście między sprzedającymi panuje wesoła i przyjazna atmosfera więc będzie ok. Staramy się być dobrej myśli.

Today before midday we reached Christchurch. It is our last stop in New Zealand. We are sleeping in Ian’s place (another couchsurfing stay). There was two very nice Israeli guys, which gave us tips where to go and what to see in Australia) French girl and another two German guys (they were staying in their van parked in front of the entrance and they were leaving it only to use toilet and bathroom – strange?) sleeping there. We dropped our bags there and went to look for a place where we could sell our car. We managed to find Backpackers Car Market (the same company from which we bought car in Auckland). We cleaned our car here and filled in all paper work. We had to pay also $65 fee which allowed us to leave the car here for three days. We had a wee look around the market and there was quite a lot of cars for sale. There was a few vans for sale as well. Some of the owners were sleeping in the in front of the building for nearly a week trying to sell their cars. There is much more cars and vans for sale here than in Auckland. Because most of people is travelling from north island down to south island what makes it more difficult to sell car later in Christchurch. So if you are planning a trip to New Zealand and want to buy a car it is better to do it in Christchurch (cars are much cheaper and there is more choice) and sell it in Auckland (quite likely with a profit). Market is managed but guys: old hippie and the other one looked more normal. There is toilet, shower, kitchen and wifi which you can use. It looks like we will spend whole days here between 9 am and 5pm untill we sell the car. Luckily there is a friendly atmosphere between the sellers so we think it will be ok We try to stay positive.
